history of the company

Alpeks, limited liability company, is a trade company. Since its foundation in 1990 its basic activity has been the sale of tableware of glass, china, ceramics, stainless steel and enamel. In the period of political and economic changes after 1990 the company had to change the targets set at the beginning of its business operations. After the loss of the Yugoslav market, we had to concentrate on the Slovene market and alter our business strategy as well as market approach. Owing to good supply sources, diversified sales network and our business flexibility, we have won a large market share in Slovenia in the field of our sales range since then . Today we endeavour to keep the share in the Slovene market in spite of big political and economic changes in trade, brought by globalization. This is the reason why we specializ in supplying to retail chains and caterers beside our existing sale range. We approached cash&carries for caterers in Ljubljana, Maribor and Celje. Since the Slovene market is small, we looked for business opportunities also on international markets. In line with stabilisation of political and economic situation in the countries of former Yugoslavia, these markets mean a new challenge for us. We have axpanded our sales network to Croatia and to Czech Republik; together with company EMO d.o.o. from Celje we founded in 2001 a company EMO-ALPEKS d.o.o.
